About FBR( Federal Board of Revenue)
The Central Board of Revenue Act, 1924, which was passed on April 1st, 1924, established the Central Board of Revenue (CBR). A full-fledged Revenue Division was established under the Ministry of Finance in 1944. Similar to how it was before independence, this arrangement persisted until the FBR established an attached office of the Ministry of Finance on the suggestions of the Administrative Reorganization Committee on August 31, 1960. Additional changes were implemented, particularly in 1974, to streamline the business and its operations. As a result, the Secretary of Finance was relieved of his duties as the ex-officio Chairman of the FBR, and the position of Chairman FBR was established with the status of additional secretary.
