About Zong:
China Mobile is the owner of CMPak Ltd, a company that operates a mobile data network in Pakistan and goes by the name Zong. According to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s 2016 ranking of data networks, Zong was the best.
It is Pakistan’s second-largest GSM mobile service provider and third-largest mobile service overall with 42 million subscribers. It has more than 14,000 4 G-capable facilities and a market share of 22% among the country’s cellular operators.
In 2008, China Mobile opened its first foreign office after being granted a Millicom licence to operate a GSM network in Pakistan. Zong is a subsidiary fully owned by China Mobile.
